Senior Scientists (posted 6/24/08)

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated senior scientists with expertise in the development of transdermal delivery systems, specifically in the areas of formulation development, device design, fabrication and manufacturing. Scientists will perform various analytical, pre-formulation and formulation activities. In addition, scientists with expertise in the design and manufacture of transdermal delivery systems, particularly iontophoretic delivery systems are encouraged to apply.

Candidates must possess enthusiasm and a strong commitment to success and be well versed in techniques and instruments used in the manufacture and testing of transdermal devices such as mixing, coating, laminating, physical and mechanical characterization of transdermal dosage forms. 2-4 years experience in the manufacture of transdermal drug delivery or similar dermal products especially desirable as well as pharmaceutical formulations and analytical techniques such as HPLC and GC as well as knowledge of cGMPs and QC/QA. Excellent interpersonal skills for effective participation in multidisciplinary project teams, with well-developed oral and written communication skills are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide leadership in the development of transdermal delivery systems, particularly with regard to formulation development, device design and manufacturing.

Supervise and train technical staff in transdermal development activities.

Prepare and distribute ad hoc reports, summaries, or analyses as required.

Prepare status reports for partners.

Prepare department budgets, timelines, and project plans.

Maintain professional skills by keeping abreast of literature, attending conferences, courses and meetings.

Manage external relationships with contract manufacturing organizations.
